Buy your Bernoly cover on this website. Before we launch in April 2025, you can put your name on the waiting list and benefit from a 20% discount on your first year.

After you finish your purchase, we will quickly onboard you through WhatsApp. It is important to finish your onboarding after purchasing your Insurance to avoid delays in reimbursing your claims later on.

Wait for your "waiting period" to be over

All pet insurance products have a "waiting period" which means there is a period after you buy your policy where you cannot submit any claims. Without them, the insurers will have to price higher level of potential fraud in their products which will make the insurance way more expensive for everyone. The waiting period is only applicable to your first year.

Why is our pet insurance not that expensive given the cover we offer?

Unfortunately, fraud is an issue in the insurance industry. As a team of mathematicians and data scientists, we have developed AI agents that identify fraud more effectively than others in the industry and automate the process, which our peers typically handle manually. This allows us to pass on these savings to you, making Bernoly Insurance more affordable for all pet owners.

Can I use Bernoly Insurance without WhatsApp?

For now, unfortunately you cannot use Bernoly Insurance if you do not have WhatsApp.

How does Bernoly Insurance differ than other insurers in Switzerland?

We offer a more comprehensive product, but our waiting periods are slightly longer than some of our peers. With this, we can eliminate bad exposure and making pet insurance affordable for everyone.

How can I benefit from the 30% discount?

For each year you don't make any claims, we return a substantial part of your premium as credits toward your next year's premium, up to 30%, because we don't want you to see insurance as a waste of money if you have a perfectly healthy pet. You don’t need to do anything; we’ll keep track of your pet’s health and automatically apply the discount to your next year’s invoice.

Does my insurance price go up over time?

Yes, insurance premiums for pet has been going up for many year due to a number of reasons. That's why we do not want to confuse you by saying, we may increase your premium for some reasons and not for some other reasons. How could you know!
Instead, we reward you over time by giving considerable discounts for years that you make no claims.

Is pet insurance worth it?

Well, that depends on the insurance. With us, if your pet is unlucky enough to develop a major disease, you can rest assured knowing you're protected—no ifs or buts—as long as your pet became sick while you were our customer. The reality is, in some years, you may pay more than you receive, and in others, you may receive more than you pay. That’s why we offer a considerable premium credit—up to 30%—for years when you didn’t make any claims.

In what cases will my Bernoly pet insurance pay?

We offer you peace of mind for those times when your pet gets sick, has an accident, goes missing, or experiences a medical emergency during a trip. We also provide coverage related to your pet in situations where you're facing an emergency and cannot take care of them. Additionally, we include preventive care as part of our insurance product.

Are pre-existing conditions covered?

In general, conditions that are discovered before you buy pet insurance are not covered. That's why everyone recommends you to buy pet insurance early on to make sure all conditions that your pet develops are covered. In Bernoly, we do cover certain pre-existing conditions that we consider "cured" prior to you purchasing our insurance.
