Buy your Bernoly online

Follow the link to buy your Bernoly cover on this website. Before we launch in April, you can put your name on the waiting list and save 20% on your first year renewal.

Be onboarded on WhatsApp

After you finish your purchase, we will quickly onboard you. It is important to finish your onboarding within 10 days after purchasing your Bernoly cover to avoid delays in reimbursing your claims later on.

Wait for your "waiting period" to be over

All pet insurance products have a "waiting period" which mean there is a period after you buy your policy where you cannot submit any claims. Without them, the insurers will have to price higher level of potential fraud in their products which will make the insurance more expensive for everyone. The waiting periods are only applicable to your first year of cover with us.

From asking questions about your cover to submitting claims, you can do it all on WhatsApp with your dedicated agent.

Transparency is our core value

How come our products are not that expensive given the cover we offer?

Unfortunately, fraud is more common in pet insurance than most other insurance lines of business. Being a bunch of mathematicians and data scientists, we have built a number of AI agents to identify fraud better than the industry and automate a lot of things that our peers have to do manually. This means, we can pass on these savings to you and offer Bernoly at a lower price.

Can I use Bernoly insurance without WhatsApp?

For now, unfortunately you cannot use Bernoly products if you do not have WhatsApp.

How does your product differ than other insurers in Switzerland?

We aim to offer more comprehensive product, but our waiting periods are slightly longer than some of our peers. For example, with Bernoly you have to wait for 10 days after your buy our products in order to be covered for accident claims. Some Swiss insurers will require you to only wait for 1 day.

How does your pricing differ from other insurers in Switzerland?

Each insurer has a different pricing model, so this will be hard to say precisely. However, our goal is to offer a more comprehensive cover at similar price to the rest. Keep in mind, that if your pet happens to be very healthy in coming years, and you make no claim for some years, we are the only Swiss insurer currently to offer a substantial amount of your money back in premium credits. This can make your insurance considerably cheaper in the long run.

Does my insurance price go up over time?

Yes, insurance premiums for pet has been going up for many year due to a number of reasons. That's why we do not want to confuse you by saying, we may increase your premium for some reasons and not for some other reasons. How could you know!
Instead, we reward you over time by giving considerable discounts for years that you make no claims.

Is pet insurance worth it?

Well, that depends on the insurance. With us if you get unlucky with your pet having a major disease, you know you're protected with no ifs and buts if your pet became sick while you were our customer.
The reality is, in some year you may pay more than you receive and in some years you recieve more than you pay. That is why we give a considerable premium credit back up to 30% for years where you did not make any claims.

In what cases will my pet insurance pay?

We can offer you a peace of mind for when your pet is getting sick, having an accident, go missing or have a medical emergency during a trip. We also cover you as it relates to your pet in cases such as when you're having emergency and you cannot take care of your pet or when you need to mourn after your pet passes away. We also offer you a comprehensive preventive care package.

Are the pre-existing conditions covered?

In general, conditions that are discovered before you buy pet insurance are not covered. That's why everyone recommends you to buy pet insurance early on to make sure all conditions that your pet develops are covered. In Bernoly, we do cover certain pre-existing conditions that we consider "cured" prior to you purchasing our insurance.
